When the sun sets over Playa Hermosa, the beach in front of the hotel becomes the evening's gathering place: surfboards, sand, music, and an awards ceremony to close the day.

The evening continues on the terrace, with local musicians, cocktails, and the ocean in the background. Sometimes it is a solo guitarist, sometimes a full band. The lineup changes with the season and is announced at the front desk.

Competition, Sand, and Awards
Surf Nights grew out of what Playa Hermosa already is: home to one of the best-known waves on Costa Rica's Central Pacific coast. Competition heats take place right in front of the hotel, people come down from the terrace in the last light of day, and the ocean fills with surfboards as spectators gather on the sand.
The awards ceremony follows, with an official event shirt for each podium finisher and music continuing into the night. Dates are announced seasonally. Please ask at the front desk before your arrival.
